| [j]Since me and my husband we already passed the marriage steps 2 years ago and we managed everything in the right way, I find important to inform other couples about the legal steps of marriage in Egypt. Although we had to complete many steps, I must tell you that in the case of the foreign husband (the one outside Egypt) the Embassy could ask different papers or almost the same with mines. In this case, please remember always to check the necessary documents with your country authorities and be in touch with them.
Documents of foreign husband (the one outside Egypt):
- [font=Arial]certificate of celibacy (which proves that you are single) or divorce prove (if you
was married before and divorced) - stamped by the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Justice (the divorce sentence);
birth certificate (the international one) stamped by the Ministry of External Affairs;
passport (original + xerox copy);
5 pictures (ID pics size);
visa for marriage (not the one from the airport; another one additional);
medical certificate (from authorized clinic in Egypt);
in case you are Muslim - Muslim certificate from Al Azhar for foreigners in Cairo (attention - it is not the same with Al Azhar University or the Mosque Al Azhar).
NOTE: Be careful with the validity of the papers; some documents arevalid just for 30 days! Documents of Egyptian husband:
- milad certificate (birth certificate);
- fish basamat (criminal record certificate);
- qaid family and qaid fardy (certificate of celibacy);
- passport (original + xerox copy);
- 5 pictures (ID size);
- medical certificate (from authorized hospital in Egypt);
All documents of the Egyptian husband - except the medical
certificate - must be stamped by the Ministry of External Affairs from Egypt.
NOTE: The documents of the Egyptian husband must be translated in your mother tongue before going to your Embassy! For any further details, please ask your authorities and also the authorities of the Ministry of Justice from Egypt (the only authority able to close a legal marriage between foreign husbands).[/font] [/j]
